Faithful Friends

“When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.””
Luke 5:20 NIV

In Luke chapter 5 we read a touching account of a cripple brought to Jesus by his friends. Unable to find entrance into the house, they climbed up and lowered their comrade at the feet of Jesus from atop the roof. Seeing their faith, Jesus declared, "Friend, your sins are forgiven you."

What a determined faith the friends of this cripple demonstrated! They would not rest until they had brought their friend to Jesus. If only we would demonstrate the same persevering faith to bring our friends to Jesus. Like the cripple, many will not come without the encouragement and help of those who have faith in the power of God. We too can experience the joy of seeing our loved ones transformed by the grace of God no matter how desperate their current condition.

Still Seeking His Face,
Pastor Andrew
