“Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.”
Psalms 34:11 ESV

The evolutionist argues that fear is a protective mechanism which has helped our species survive. There is a fear, however, spoken of in the Bible which leads men to do strange things, things which run against the evolutionary grain of explanation. To lay down one's life for a belief or to jump into harms way to save an enemy reveals the existence of something outside the evolutionary model.

When we discover that fellowship with our Creator is the very essence of life and that death cannot rob us of it, the only thing left to fear is bringing dishonor upon the One we have come to love more than life itself. This is the beginning of wisdom, this is the fear of the Lord.

Still Seeking His Face,
Pastor Andrew
