Buford's Great Exchange

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

Malachi 3:10 NIV

Once upon a time there were a couple of families who wanted something more for their kids. They dreamed of a community of faith where young people would be an integral part of worship and mission. A place where all ages and races could come together to make a felt difference in the world around them. As more and more people caught this vision a space was created that not only fostered a beautiful integration of age and race but a space that felt like home. A place of safety and second chances, where some who had nearly given up on God caught a second wind.

The rapid growth of the Buford Family Church has been no accident. God has a special purpose for us. He desires to reveal himself afresh and plant within us a passion for the unique mission our gifts demand. God has guided to this point and doors have fallen open all along the way. It appears that another such door is opening before us. The possibility to establish a base of operations in the heart of a growing community. 4044 Friendship Rd Buford GA may become our new home in the not too distant future. If the opportunity to buy this property is indeed of God then we have every reason to throw ourselves whole-heartedly behind it.

Do we believe in the mission of this church? Is it God who has commissioned us to discover him and serve him as a family? Allow me to share from my heart, I believe in you. More than any church I have had the honor of serving, I believe the talents and passions exist within this church to make a profound impact on Buford and beyond.

Do not be intimidated by the price tag of building a church, if this step is of God and we trust him, he will bring us together to accomplish it in a miraculous manner. A very concrete opportunity lies before us which is uniquely calculated to arouse us from the spiritual slumber holding most of Christendom in its power. Investing whole-heartedly in the Great Exchange, the exchange of earthly goods for Heavenly gain, is key to the revival which will one day sweep through God's people.

God's work does not always demand that his children own a brick and mortar base of operations, but if this is where God sees fit to lead Buford then let us engage this step with everything we have. Very few of us know what it means to suffer for Christ, to go without for the sake of the gospel. But this very opportunity lies before us in an incredibly tangible way. What kind of a message would we be sending to our community as well as our fellow slumbering Christians if we made the establishment of God's house an absolute priority in our lives.

Six months. If we become convinced that God is leading in this direction, what could we allow God to accomplish through our giving in 6 months. We all acknowledge intellectually that everything we have is from the Lord and ought to be at his disposal, but are we prepared to test this theory? The opportunity before us of allowing God to take control of our resources for his purposes is inseparably tied to revival. God is ready to awaken his people if we will but trust him. Let's wake up together as we let God lead us to take the next step as a family.

Still Seeking His Face,

Pastor Andrew
