Heavenly Citizenship

"...Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."”

Matthew 22:21 ESV

When it came to the promised messiah, foremost in the minds of jews was the hope of national greatness. Weary from the burden of Roman domination, Jesus fellow countrymen felt their need for temporal deliverance far more than their need for spiritual restoration. It was their national interests that blinded them to a savior who came in the form of a humble Galilean.

Are we in danger of allowing our "National Interests" to overshadow our greatest need. In the midst of a country sharply divided politically, we must not lose a Biblical perspective. Come what may, good or bad, may we never forget that Jesus alone can see us through. Taking a stand for political conviction has its place, but it must not overshadow the fact that our citizenship is in heaven.

Still Seeking His Face,

Pastor Andrew
