Jesus Wants to Eat With You

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

Revelation 3:19-20 NIV

The first step in any spiritual revival is to stop and acknowledge God's presence in our lives. He is there, he has always been there, and he is ready and able to help us. Jesus is not afraid of our sin and will enter our darkest places if we will let him. The intimate picture of sharing a meal in our home is the way Jesus seeks to communicate the desire he has to be with us just as we are.

Jesus isn't itching to get in and fix us, to set us "straight." He wants to share a meal, he wants to talk. Jesus wants to comfort us and open our eyes to our value and his love. There is no point in frantically reorganizing our junk to try and make our lives presentable, just open the door. This is the most vital decision we can make each and every day.

Still Seeking His Face,

Pastor Andrew
