Spiritual Gifts 8

““Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them.”

Matthew 25:14 NIV

Accepting by faith that God has entrusted us with special talents and abilities is a relational experience. We can't but acknowledge as we consider God's mercy that he must believe in us. Yes, God believes in us so much that he trusts to be the tools of his grace impacting others on his behalf. When we choose to believe in a God of perfect love it becomes more conceivable that God would bless us in this way.

God has not given us special gifts primarily so we can do his bidding. God imparts to us grace empowered abilities that we might experience the joy for which we were created. Service when it aligns with God's will and our unique talents is an incredible joy. Nothing leaves us more deeply and lastingly satisfied than knowing we are making a difference in other people's lives by engaging our passions and abilities.

Allow your mind to consider the heart of God and the reason he has promised to empower you for service. Meditate upon the fact that he believes in you. Ask God for wisdom to discern and a desire to engage your gifts in ministering to the needs of others. Deep satisfaction and adventure await!

Still Seeking His Face,

Pastor Andrew
