The Great Exchange 3

“"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Matthew 6:24 ESV

What are we reaching for? What are we most bent on accomplishing or striving to achieve? What is the prize we consciously or unconsciously keep before us that motivates us to action? The world is motivated by success and gain in this life, yet God would have us motivated by success and gain in the life to come.

Consciously and intentionally investing in eternity by faith allows God to rewire the affections of our heart. God know's that our greatest joy will be found in getting to know him and then sharing what we discover with others. This is where God would have us focus our mind's eye, our resources, and our hearts. When we do this our families do not suffer neglect while we grasp after earthly treasure and our churches do not languish for a want of means. When we allow God's priorities to inform our investments everyone wins.

Still Seeking His Face,

Pastor Andrew
