Trust Take Time

“"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.”

Jeremiah 17:7 ESV

God has wisely designed us so that something as vital as trust develops only through intimate interaction over time. Trust gradually establishes itself as we come to discern the the character of someone we have personal interaction with. The more faithful and safe we discover someone to be the more our heart is capable of trusting them.

One of the reasons God becomes the supreme love for those who discover him is that he proves himself time and time again to be completely safe. This is the first conclusion we must come to in our journey to know him. When we by faith and experience have established the reality of God's trustworthiness, we have a foundation from which to experience God in precious ways.

Trust is never without an element of risk, but we all have our trust placed somewhere or in something. Trusting God is infinitely safer than trusting others or even trusting ourselves. Whatever we lean on for strength, if it is not the Lord, will eventually fail us. Trusting God feels risky, but it is the safest investment which exists.

Trust only develops over time through relationship. If a daily conversation between you and the Lord has not begun or has not been consistently protected you know what must be done!

Still Seeking His Face,

Pastor Andrew
